Currys PLC (LSE:CURY) said Ian Dyson will succeed Ian Livingston as chairman on September 8, with Livingston stepping down from the board on that date.
Dyson will initially join the board of the electrical retailer on September 1 as a non-executive director.
He is currently chairman of online fashion retailer ASOS PLC (AIM:ASC) and a non-executive director of Intercontinental Hotels Group PLC (LSE:IHG), although he will step down from that role next February.
Dyson “brings a wealth of experience of consumer facing industries and public company boards,” Currys said in a statement.
He was group finance and operations director at M&S Group PLC from 2005 to 2010 before becoming chief executive of Punch Taverns (LSE:PUB) PLC in 2010. Prior to that, Dyson held positions at Rank Group (LSE:RNK) PLC, Flutter Entertainment PLC (LSE:FLTR) (formerly Paddy Power Betfair) and SSP Group plc (LSE:SSPG).
“As we continue with our exciting transformation, I am delighted that in Ian Dyson we have found a new Chair who will help us continue on our path towards a world class business for colleagues, customers, shareholders and society,” said chief executive Alex Baldock.
