Smiths Group posts fourth consecutive quarter of organic revenue growth

The FTSE 100-listed company said its share buyback programme was on track

Smiths Group (LSE:SMIN) said ongoing sales momentum and growth in three divisions enabled a strong third-quarter performance.

The FTSE 100-listed engineering company confirmed full-year organic revenue growth guidance of 3% and cautioned that macroeconomic uncertainties and supply chain challenges remained.

Organic revenue for the nine months ended April 30 accelerated to 4.2% from 3.4% in the first half, the company said.

Its £742mln share buyback programme was said to be on track, with the programme expected to complete early 2023.

"We delivered our fourth consecutive quarter of growth, demonstrating further progress against our strategy, towards our medium-term target of 4-6% organic revenue growth. As we enter the final quarter of FY2022, macro uncertainty remains high and supply chain and inflationary challenges continue," said Paul Keel, group chief executive.

The company is to publish its results for the year ending July 31, 2022 in September.
