Eurasia Mining names M&A expert as new non-executive director

The experience of Artem Matyushok "can significantly speed up our Russian assets sale process", said Eurasia chairman Christian Schaffalitzky

Eurasia Mining PLC (AIM:EUA) named Artem Matyushok, "a high profile M&A professional", as an independent non-executive director in a move the AIM-listed mining company said could help accelerate the disposal of its Russian assets.

Matyushok has 20 years of experience in energy and natural resources and has served in senior merger and acquisition (M&A) roles at natural resource companies, where he executed M&A deals with a total value of over US$100bn, the palladium, platinum, rhodium, iridium and gold producer said in a statement.

"The directors are pleased that Artem Matyushok, a high profile M&A professional has agreed to join Eurasia. The experience of Artem and his knowledge of Eurasia can significantly speed up our Russian assets sale process," said Christian Schaffalitzky, executive chairman of Eurasia Mining.

James Nieuwenhuys, CEO and managing director of Eurasia, added: "We welcome Artem Matyushok on board to progress our M&A journey".

Matyushok has a PhD and a CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) qualification, and possesses a “strong appreciation of corporate governance and diversity skills obtained through various assignments”, the company said.

As well as that, he is a former Shell employee, where he participated in several developments and was also involved in Shell’s early energy transition initiatives.
