Critical Resources Ltd (ASX:CRR) managing director Alex Biggs is relocating to Canada and the US temporarily to oversee the company’s strategy regarding its Mavis Lake Lithium Project in Ontario, Canada.
Biggs will use the six-to-eight-week period to engage first-hand with key stakeholders, establish premises, monitor the current drilling campaign with on ground personnel and attend the PDAC 2022 conference.
Corporate activities in North America including marketing to the broader US market and meeting with potential strategic partners, will also be a priority.
Biggs will depart Australia on May 20 and return in the second week of July.
“It is a fantastic opportunity for me to return to the Mavis Lake Lithium Project, especially after the continued success we have seen in our first drill program,” Biggs said.
“Continuing to engage with our key stakeholders and partners is a core business value of the company. We are also looking forward to furthering our relationships with potential strategic partners in North America and telling the Critical Resources’ story to the North American market.”
About Mavis Lake
The Mavis Lake Lithium Project is 19 kilometres east of the town of Dryden, Ontario, and in close vicinity to the Trans-Canada highway. Further infrastructure support comes in the form of and railway major transportation arteries that link larger cities such as Thunder Bay, Ontario, to the southeast and Winnipeg, Manitoba, to the west.
Hydro-power facilities just a few kilometres to the southwest of the project also place Mavis Lake in a unique position.
Previous drill programs have yielded high-grade Li2O intercepts including:
- 55.25 metres at 1.04% Li2O from 80.75 metres in drill hole MF18-53; and
- 26.30 metres at 1.70% Li2O from 111.9 metres including 7.70 metres at 2.97% from 130.5 metres in drill hole MF17‐491.
Due to the results, CRR sees significant exploration potential and is undergoing a large work program in the area.
Just yesterday, the company announced it had intersected 23.1 metres of visual spodumene-bearing pegmatite, the widest to date at Mavis Lake.
