C3 Metals Inc (TSX-V:CCCM, OTC:CARCF) has announced that drilling at its Jasperoide copper-gold project in southern Peru has intersected a hydrothermal alteration system beneath the Montaña de Cobre zone which further supports the site's promising resource potential.
In a press release, the company said the multi-phase hydrothermal alteration system was coincident with a large hybrid CSAMT anomaly and indicative of a classic porphyry model.
C3 Metals vice president exploration Stephen Hughes said the company was testing deeper levels of the Jasperoide copper-gold system which was providing important geologic evidence confirming that the hydrothermal alteration at the Montaña de Cobre zone extended to depth of over 1,000 metres (m).

“Alteration of this scale is typically associated with large-scale porphyry systems, confirming our interpretation that a porphyry system is the driving force behind well developed skarns,” Hughes said.
He noted the presence of molybdenite-pyrite veins that were reminiscent of similar style veining he had seen at porphyry systems in Indonesia.
“In the breccias, we identified altered porphyry fragments that contain pyrite veins and these fragments have been ripped from a porphyry system at depth,” Hughes said.
“With each drill hole we see more and more porphyry indicators and we remain committed to unlocking the true value of this impressive land package."
The company added that its phase 2 drill program at the Jasperoide project was well underway, with the first hole completed to 1,180 m and the second hole in progress at 1,050 m.
The drill holes are testing the multiple targets at the Montaña de Cobre, Cresta Verde, Callejón de Oro zones and a newly identified target at the Domo (NASDAQ:DOMO) Verde zone.
