Great Atlantic Resources Corp (TSX-V:GR) said drilling at its Golden Promise project in central Newfoundland’s gold belt has returned evidence of further high-grade gold at the property.
The company said drilling within the Jaclyn main zone in the northern region of the property intersected near-surface gold bearing quartz veins with visible gold at its fifth drill hole GP-21-153.
Intercepts included 57.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 0.65 metres (m) core length and 6.26 g/t gold over 4.65m core length.

It also intersected multiple quartz veins with high-grade gold, including an intercept at 44 to 44.65m containing visible gold.
“A zone of predominantly quartz veining was intersected at 66.9m to 74.49m with visible gold in three veins,” the company said.
The fifth drill hole was part of Great Atlantic’s eight-hole 2021 drill program totalling 848 m at the Jaclyn main zone and Jaclyn north zone.
Additional drilling is planned for the Jaclyn zone in 2022, where high-grade gold was first confirmed by Great Atlantic during its initial 2019 drill program.
Great Atlantic Resources is a Canadian exploration company focused on the discovery and development of mineral assets in Atlantic Canada.
