Twitter accuses Elon Musk of nondisclosure agreement violation

Tesla’s chief executive stated Friday that his US$44bn cash deal to take the social media platform private was “temporarily on hold” as he awaited the outcome of the proportion of Twitter's automated users

Elon Musk said he was accused by Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR)’s legal team of violating a nondisclosure agreement (NDA) by unveiling the sample size for its check on fake accounts.

Twitter legal just called to complain that I violated their NDA by revealing the bot check sample size is 100!

This actually happened.

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) May 14, 2022

One user asked the world’s richest man to "elaborate on [the] process of filtering bot accounts", to which Musk replied: "I picked 100 as the sample size number because that is what Twitter uses to calculate <5% fake/spam/duplicate."

Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA)’s chief executive stated Friday that his US$44bn cash deal to take the social media platform private was “temporarily on hold” as he awaited the outcome of the proportion of its automated users.

Musk tweeted on Sunday he is yet to see “any” analysis that shows Twitter’s fake/spam or duplicate accounts is under 5%.

He added that "there is some chance it might be over 90% of daily active users".
