East Star Resources Plc (LSE:EST) has received the remaining assays from reconnaissance reverse circulation drilling undertaken in September 2021 on the Apmintas licence on the Chu-Ili gold belt in central Kazakhstan.
Among the highlights from the results were 14 metres grading 2.54 grams per tonne gold from only 40 metres downhole, and two metres at 28.8 grams from 196 metres.
Anomalous gold was confirmed across all Eshkilitau occurrences of the Apmintas licence, confirming a gold bearing system with a strike of more than four kilometres.
Meanwhile, the company now has teams on site again, conducting soil sampling and ground magnetics to firm up collar locations for upcoming drill programme, due to commence in the third quarter of this year.
"The disseminated gold in AP_021 at Eshkilitau II is fantastic to see,” said Alex Walker, chief executive of East Star.
“Historical results at this target recorded high grades over short intervals whereas wider intersections, close to surface will add tonnage to potential future operations. It also demonstrates that historical assays often did not include the potential for disseminated ore which increases the potential on other targets. The anomalous gold from other parts of the licence demonstrate that gold-rich fluid migrated through a significant portion of Apmintas.”
The company is already aware of several local trap structures, such as Novoe, Southern Shabdar and Eshkilitau II and the results from the magnetic survey indicate there are a number of other exciting targets under cover.
