Galantas Gold Corp (AIM:GAL, TSX-V:GAL, OTC:GALKF) said it intercepted a new high-grade zone at its ongoing drilling programme at the Omagh project in Northern Ireland.
One of the four holes drilled from the underground development at the main Kearney Vein intersected a new dilation zone with an intersection of 21.4 grammes a tonne (g/t) gold and 32.9 g/t silver over 2.4 metres (m).
Dilation zones, which have potential for higher widths of mineralization, have previously been identified within the Kearney underground development.
Another drill hole also penetrated the main Kearney Vein, with multiple intersections including 16.6 g/t gold and 26.9 g/t silver over 1.5m, while a third hole intersected 7.1 g/t gold and 13.2 g/t silver over 3.4m on a parallel-running vein known as the 'C-lens', about 50m east of the Kearney Vein.
"The continued success of our exploration program is demonstrating not only the high-grade potential of the deposit but also the predictability in identifying the high-grade dilation zones,” said chief executive Mario Stifano.
Further confidence is gained in the nearby 'C-lens', which was intersected in all four holes, the company said.
“Recent drilling has identified a number of parallel lenses including the C-lens and the B-lens,” Stifano said, referring to results announced in March.

The company said it has resumed underground development and blasting, and remains on track to start production in the second half of June.
