Aurumin Ltd (ASX:AUN) has set the drills spinning at the Central Sandstone Project in Western Australia, hunting gold mineralisation at the Two Mile Hill Tonalite and Shillington banded iron formation (BIF) deposits.
The program will be a combination of reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling (DD), with the first stage, the RC component, expected to take about two weeks to complete.
Central Sandstone drill program
At Shillington BIF deposit, Aurumin intends to use RC drilling to target the down-plunge position of the existing Shillington Open Pit resource and test the structural controls on the BIF-hosted mineralisation.
At Two Mile Hill, diamond drilling will be used to generate more data for an area of sparser drilling between 250 metres and 500 metres below the surface.
While the area is relatively under-explored, results from previous drilling have shown “good vein frequency and high grades typical of the tonalite style mineralisation".

Overall Aurumin expects to complete 1,400 metres and nine drill holes at Shillington and 800 metres and fives holes at Two Mile Hill.
