Aurumin completes drilling while sampling supports lithium prospectivity at Mt Palmer

"The full soil sample results support our lithium targeting and indicators remain positive at Mt Palmer and analogous to other projects in the region. The orientation drill program is complete, with pegmatites confirmed in 11 of the 12 hole

Aurumin Ltd (ASX:AUN) has completed an orientation drill program targeting lithium-bearing pegmatites and has received all ultrafine soil sampling results from the Mt Palmer Lithium Project in Western Australia.

The drilling program consisted of 12 reverse circulation (RC) holes for 1,212 metres and struck pegmatites in 11 of 12 holes, ranging from 1 to 40 metres in thickness.

The lithium content is unknown, but all samples are at the laboratory pending analysis.

Results from the ultrafine soil survey confirmed anomalous zones that broadly align with areas previously identified to be prospective for lithium with x-ray fluorescence (XRF) Lithium Index results.

“Results support lithium targeting”

"We continue to be encouraged by the progress of our lithium exploration at Mt Palmer,” Aurumin managing director Brad Valiukas said.

"The full soil sample results support our lithium targeting and indicators remain positive at Mt Palmer and analogous to other projects in the region.

“The orientation drill program is complete, with pegmatites confirmed in 11 of the 12 holes. The fresh pegmatite samples have been sent for assaying and we look forward to the results.”

Mt Palmer was historically a gold-producing project that generated about 158,000 ounces of gold at an average grade of 15.9 g/t from open pit and underground methods.

Aurumin is predominantly a gold-focused company, but began exploring Mt Palmer for lithium based on drilling database notes that pointed to numerous parallel pegmatite intersections up to 50 metres thickness that had never been assayed for lithium.
