Gratomic rapidly completes 2,047.5 meters of drilling on its Capim Grosso graphite project in Brazil

The Toronto-based graphite project developer said 17 diamond drillholes were completed to date, with two additional holes in progress

Gratomic Inc revealed that it has rapidly completed 2,047.5 metres (m) of a 5,000m drilling campaign on its Capim Grosso graphite project in Brazil’s Bahia State.

The Toronto-based graphite project developer said 17 diamond drillholes were completed to date, with two additional holes in progress.

The second batch of the firm’s drillhole assays from the Capim Grosso project have been received from SGS Geosol in Brazil. Gratomic highlighted results from drill holes CDG009, CDG010 and CDG011 that returned 15.17% total graphitic carbon (TGC) from 136.75m.

The company noted that SGS Geosol's graphitic carbon assay methods and equipment include the LECO carbon-sulphur analyzer and high temperature combustion infrared detection. During this process, the carbon in the sample is converted to carbon dioxide, which is then measured by infrared detectors, explained the company.

The firm also shared assay results obtained from further three drillholes completed to date on the Capim Grosso project. All drillholes to date have intersected graphite, noted the company.

Significantly, Hole CGD009’s sample X6780 from 68.5m intersected 11.15% TGC, sample X6782 from 69.70m to 70.55m intersected 10.06% TGC and sample X6798 from 109.85m to 111.08m intersected 9.51% TGC. Hole CGD010’s sample X6814 from 97.65m to 98.65m intersected 10.22% TGC and sample X6815 from 98.65m to 99.85m returned 7.54% TGC.

Gratomic has projects in Namibia, Brazil, and Canada, and is focused on becoming a leading global graphite supplier. It aims to secure a strong position in the Electric Vehicle battery supply chain.
