Its adjusted net loss was $15.7 million in the quarter, compared to $10 million a year earlier. Cash and equivalents on hand at the end of the quarter was $429.6 million, compared to $375.8 million at the end of the fourth quarter of 2021.

Nextleaf Solutions Ltd (CSE:OILS, OTCQB:OILFF) has reached an agreement with Hempcrete Natural Building Ltd to commercialize a US patent related to the use of hemp ash as a material in the production of concrete. Hemp ash, processed using Nextleaf technology, can be used as a replacement for fly ash, which is produced as a byproduct of burning coal. The ash is a key ingredient in Portland cement, the most commonly used type of concrete in the world, which research suggests generates 2-3% of global energy use and approximately 5% of man-made carbon dioxide emissions, Nextleaf noted. The deal allows Hempcrete Natural to commercilize the patent on a non-exclusive basis, according to a statement. The company said the new property sections provide it with approximately 3.2 kilometres (km) of additional exposure along the Getchell/Range Front fault structure that is intimately associated with the Granite Creek and Turquoise Ridge gold deposits. Importantly, it noted that the property section to the north of Granite Creek is immediately on-strike with the recently discovered South Pacific Zone where high-grade mineralization is being defined along strike to the north of its Granite Creek Mine.
XPhyto Therapeutics Corp has reported positive results from a human cadaver skin permeation study of new drug formulations for its Rotigotine transdermal (TDS) patch for Parkinson's Disease. The Rotigotine patch is based on the TDS platform technology developed by Xphyto’s wholly-owned German subsidiary, Vektor Pharma TF GmbH. In a statement, Xphyto said a human cadaver skin permeation study, which compared Rotigotine absorption between two potential drug formulations and the name brand product, was recently completed at Vektor's EU GMP laboratory and manufacturing facility in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Results of the study were positive with both new formulas demonstrating absorption within the generic drug formulation target range (+/-20%) in all three cadaver skin samples.

TNR Gold Corp (TSX-V:TNR, OTC:TRRXF) has updated on progress at the Los Azules copper project in Argentina held by McEwen Mining - an asset which could be bigger and more valuable than stated previously and where TNR holds a net smelter returns (NSR) royalty. The company has a 0.4% NSR royalty on the property, including a 0.04% NSR held on behalf of a shareholder. It cited a release from McEwen Mining on May 4 this year, which noted that Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) forecasts that copper has only two years of supply growth left (2022 and 2023) and sees an open-ended supply decline starting from 2024. "They see copper playing a big, critical role as an essential component in the global push to electrify transportation and to contain/reverse global warming," said McEwen.

Approximately $80,000 of the proceeds will go towards Trees’ previously announced proposed acquisition of Barnard Cann Ltd, operating as Camp Cannabis, the company said.
