Argo Blockchain reports improved monthly numbers and appoints chief growth officer

During April, 166 bitcoin or bitcoin equivalent were mined by the company, up from 163 the month before

Argo Blockchain PLC (LSE:ARB, OTCQX:ARBKF, NASDAQ:ARBK, ETR:0XP) reported improved numbers for the month of April and promoted business development executive Justin Nolan to the role of chief growth officer.

For the month of April, the cryptocurrency miner generated £5.5mln of revenue, up from £5.2mln in March, as it mined 166 bitcoin or bitcoin equivalent (BTC), up from 163 BTC the month before.

The mining margin stepped up to roughly 75% for the month from 74% in the previous period, with the company owning 2,682 bitcoin at the end of April.

As well as leading the build-out of the new Helios crypto mining facility in Texas that began operations last Thursday, May 5, Nolan has also been focused on debt financing efforts for the company.

Having joined Argo from DPN LLC, which started developing Helios before being acquired by the company, Nolan has also “played an integral role in making the opening of our Helios facility in less than a year possible”, said chief executive Peter Wall, and “will continue to focus on long-term growth opportunities for Argo”.

Wall added: “Following our stellar 2021 results, this month shows we are on course to strengthen our track record for the year ahead.”
