SRJ Technologies Group PLC (ASX:SRJ) will deliver a large-scale bolt replacement campaign onboard one of the floating platforms of a global floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) operator.
The project, in conjunction with partner EnerMech, focuses on renewing the integrity of a "vast number" of flanges that are otherwise impossible to fix under normal operating conditions.
SRJ’s BoltEx® tool will be used in the execution of this project, because of its ability to replace bolts safely and effectively without facility shutdown.
The order will generate $243,000 of revenue for the group, expected in the third quarter of the year.
Enhancing solutions across Africa
The project is considered a significant milestone as the company continues to deliver technical solutions and enhance local delivery capability from the Ivory Coast and Ghana to Angola and South Africa.
Head of Europe, Middle East and Africa operations Roger Smith said that West Africa represented tremendous opportunities for the engineering solutions offered by the company as it addressed a range of asset integrity issues faced by ageing asset operators.
“SRJ ensures successful and timely delivery by engaging pre-qualified partners such as EnerMech, having established local infrastructure and trained personnel,” he said.
“This model supports the local content requirement as well as saves on the time and cost associated with the mobilisation of the personnel and equipment.”
About FPSO units
These floating vessels are used by the offshore oil and gas industry for the production and processing of hydrocarbons and for oil storage. They are designed to receive hydrocarbons, process them and store oil until it can be offloaded onto a tanker.
FPSOs are favoured in frontier offshore regions because they are easy to install and do not require local pipeline infrastructure.
