Nexus Minerals Ltd (ASX:NXM) has intersected broad high-grade gold mineralisation in shallow and deep drill holes including 84 metres at 1.35 g/t gold at Crusader-Templar prospect within its Wallbrook Gold Project in Western Australia.
The company received assays from 40 reverse circulation (RC) holes across 8,694 metres exhibiting strike and depth continuity with strong results including:
- 14 metres at 2.44 g/t gold and 33 metres at 2.09 g/t within 84 metres at 1.35 g/t from 9 metres;
- 7 metres at 2.78 g/t within 22 metres at 1.02 g/t from 26 metres; and
- 10 metres at 4.48 g/t within 16 metres at 2.90 g/t from 31 metres.
Notably, the gold mineralisation tenor and widths observed in these recent holes complement and enhance the results seen in the previous drilling at Crusader-Templar.
Moving forward, Nexus continues to undertake infill and extensional drilling to define and extend this evolving 1.6-kilometre mineralised corridor.
“Very large mineralised system”
Nexus managing director Andy said: “The drill results continue to impress, with broad high-grade zones of mineralisation being returned.
“The widths and grades returned in shallower oxide targeted drilling, including 84 metres at 1.35 g/t gold from 9 metres are impressive, building our confidence in the potential for the Crusader-Templar Prospect to evolve into a very large mineralised system.”
Forward plan
Nexus has undertaken initial RC drilling of two regional exploration targets, Solomon and Branches prospects.
In addition, the company has completed about 75% of the planned regional gravity survey which will concentrate on an area of some 95 square kilometres in the central project area.
The survey aims to identify gravity low corridors coincident with the existing ground magnetic anomalies, providing further regional targets for drill testing.
Nexus is looking forward to about 17,000 metres of RC drill assays expected to be delivered within the next two weeks.
About Nexus
Nexus is actively exploring gold deposits on its highly prospective tenement package in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.
In addition, the company has recently expanded its existing project portfolio with the addition of the Bethanga Porphyry Copper-Gold project in Victoria.
In Western Australia, the consolidation of the highly prospective Wallbrook Gold Project by the amalgamation of existing Nexus tenements with others acquired will advance these gold exploration efforts.
Nexus’ tenement package at the Wallbrook Gold Project begins immediately to the north of Northern Star’s multi-million ounce Carosue Dam mining operations, and current operating Karari and Whirling Dervish underground gold mines.
