Kootenay Silver gearing up for upcoming 15,000 metre drill program at Columba high-grade silver project

The company said it plans to focus on several prospective zones on the property, including the F Vein, which is host to historic high-grade silver underground workings that measure over 1,000 metres in length

Kootenay Silver Inc. (TSX-V:KTN) has said it is getting set to start its 2022 drill program at its Columba silver project in Mexico.

The Vancouver-based junior is planning to drill 15,000 metres at the high-grade silver property located in Chihuahua state.

The company told shareholders that two diamond core drills are about to arrive at the project.

Kootenay said it plans to focus on several prospective zones on the property, including the F Vein, which is host to historic high-grade silver underground workings that measure over 1,000 metres in length. Previous drilling on the F Vein returned results of 787 grams per ton (g/t) silver over 5.95 metres.

Other areas of focus will be the D and B Veins, which are located around 800 metres south and along strike of the F Vein, and the JZ Zone as well as the East Block, according to a statement from the company.

All of the targets have returned promising results from earlier drill programs, with the D Vein showing 932 g/t silver over 6.07 metres, and the B Vein returning 1,186 g/t silver over 4.6 metres.

The JZ Trap Zone returned an eye-popping 2,035 g/t over 6 metres, and the East Block had results of 1,190 g/t silver over 0.5 metres.

Kootenay Silver is an exploration company actively engaged in the discovery and development of mineral projects in the Sierra Madre Region of Mexico and in British Columbia.
