SDI Group PLC (AIM:SDI) shares shot up on Friday after the digital imaging solutions company said profit would be higher than forecast.
Revenue and adjusted pretax profit for fiscal 2022 surpassed expectations due to robust sales and order intakes across all its businesses in February, March and April, it said.
Adjusted pre-tax profit likely to be at least £10.5mln for the year ended April 30, SDI said, compared to £7.4mln in the previous year, and ahead of analysts' forecast of £9.65mln.
The AIM-listed company expects fiscal 2023 to be its best year yet, ahead of expectations too, having continued to invest in its current and new businesses.
The company reported additional sales contributions from acquired businesses of Monmouth Scientific, Uniform Engineering, Scientific Vacuum Systems and Safelab Systems.
"We have executed again on all facets of our buy and build strategy, delivering record performance in fiscal 2022 and setting up what looks like another record year in fiscal 2023," said chairman Ken Ford.
Shares of the company were trading 13.25% higher at 171.00p.
