Thor Mining gets nickel survey underway after Covid delays

The survey is designed to detect conductive anomalies at depth

Thor Mining PLC (AIM:THR, OTC:THORF, ASX:THR) has started a ground-based electromagnetic survey over the nickel gossan known as the Krona prospect at its Ragged Range Project in Eastern Pilbara, Western Australia.

Nicole Galloway Warland, Thor‘s managing director, said: "Thor is excited to see the geophysics crew begin work on the ground after nearly one year of waiting for this survey to commence as a result of WA border closure and high demand on geophysics crews."

The survey is designed to detect conductive anomalies at depth and that may indicate the presence of nickel sulphide mineralisation.

"Geological mapping and sampling indicate that the gossan extends over 1km, with geochemistry highlighting anomalous nickel and chromium," said Galloway Warland.

At the same time as the survey, Thor will also ground map and sample several lithium targets, including potential lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites.

This work will test for lithium within a 10km radius of the Split Rock Supersuite at Ragged Range.

Elsewhere, Galloway Warland said final preparations are being carried out for the second phase of reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Sterling gold prospect.
