Kootenay Silver Inc said additional drill results have revealed continued broad gold mineralization at the California target on the Cervantes property in Mexico, which is part of a joint venture with Aztec Minerals Corp.
The first results have been returned and show some very good copper and gold grades, Kootenay Silver said in a release.
Highlights from 26-hole drill program results include an intercept of 0.21% copper and 1.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 88.4 metres (m), including 0.45% copper and 3.92 g/t gold over 15.2m.

Another intercept showed 0.42 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 68.4 m and a deeper interval of 2.25 g/t gold over 10.6m.
“The first multi-element ICP results show good relationships between gold, copper, bismuth, silver, and arsenic, with prospective grades and width for copper and silver for a potential deposit model,” Kootenay Silver said.
A new zone of copper mineralization was also intercepted at the Jasper target, 600m west of the California zone.
Final results from the drill program are expected to be received during 2Q 2022, following the release of the preliminary gold assays.
Kootenay Silver is an exploration company engaged in the discovery and development of mineral projects in the Sierra Madre Region of Mexico and British Columbia in Canada.
