Golden Tag Resources Ltd. (TSX-V:GOG, OTCQB:GTAGF) has said it anticipates expanding the Fernandez zone at its San Diego project in Mexico following the receipt of promising drill results.
The company said it has received complete results from two diamond drill holes - 22-65A and 65B - that were part of an exploration targeting bulk-tonnage mineralization at the property, which showed high-grade intersections close to the surface, including 1,551 grams per tonne (g/t) silver equivalent over 0.60 metres (m), and 1,194 g/t silver equivalent over 0.65m in the Rata zone.
Other highlights from the results included 174 g/t silver equivalent over 16.48m, including 690 g/t silver equivalent over 2.50m within the Canta zone and 363 g/t silver equivalent over 4.27m within the CSplay zone.

The drill results also showed 93 g/t silver equivalent over 395m, including a higher-grade interval of 109 g/t silver equivalent over 186m beyond the previously established western limit of the resource envelop, approximately 70m northwest of historical hole 12-47.
Golden Tag CEO Greg McKenzie said the company was pleased to discover that the Fernandez zone extended 70m to the northwest.
“We can see that the continuity of mineralization on the western side is really remarkable as we have encountered 395m of mineralization with a maximum internal dilution of only 4.5m,” McKenzie said in a statement.
“We can now anticipate that the potential extension of the Fernandez zone could measure approximately 140m x 70m in the horizontal plane and 530m in the vertical plane.”
He also noted that there were no drill holes to the west of hole 22-65B, meaning the Fernandez zone remained open to the west.
