i-80 Gold reveals fresh positive drill results from underground drill program at Granite Creek

Following the release of its best intercept to date on the proejct, results from the final four holes drilled in the 2021 underground program included 27.7 grams per ton (g/t) gold over 12.6 metres (m) and 54.7 g/t gold over 5.9 m

I-80 Gold Corp has revealed positive new drill results from the final four holes on its Granite Creek property in Nevada.

Following the release of its best intercept to date on the project, results from the final four holes drilled in the 2021 underground program included 27.7 grams per ton (g/t) gold over 12.6 metres (m) and 54.7 g/t gold over 5.9 m from one hole, and 19.3 (g/t) gold over 5.1 (m) and 14.4 g/t gold over 3.7 m in another hole.

Reno-based i-80 told shareholders that it is focused on defining mineralization for mining and to complete a revised resource estimate at the end of the nearly 30,000-metre drill program.

"We are just in the initial phase of developing the Ogee Zone for mining and these results confirm the high-grade nature of one of our primary underground targets at Granite Creek", Tyler Hill, senior geologist of i-80 said in a statement.

"Our previously released surface drill hole, iGU21-15, intersected multiple high-grade zones within a broader intercept of 7.4 g/t gold across 73.2 metres at depth, demonstrating the substantial upside opportunity of multiple structures at depth that will complement the new South Pacific Zone."

I-80 said it is in the process of expanding the underground workings so that multiple headings are available for mining. According to the company, the decline is being driven to depth and initial work is being performed to assess the potential to access the new South Pacific Zone located immediately below and to the north of the mine workings.

The first mineralization from the underground operation will be trucked to Twin Creeks for processing in mid-2022, under an agreement with Nevada Gold Mines, the company added.

Granite Creek is located proximal to Nevada Gold Mines' Turquoise Ridge and Twin Creeks mines at the north end of the Battle Mountain-Eureka Trend, at its intersection with the Getchell gold belt in Nevada.
