Steppe Gold reports higher April gold output as production ramps up at its ATO mine in Mongolia

During the month of April, the firm reported gold production of approximately 3,350 ounces in two pours, compared to 1,532 ounces in March 2022

Steppe Gold Limited (TSX:STGO, OTCQX:STPGF) told shareholders that it is continuing to ramp up production at its ATO gold operation in Mongolia following its March restart.

During the month of April, the firm reported gold production of approximately 3,350 ounces in two pours, compared to 1,532 ounces in March 2022.

"We are very pleased to report continued ramp up of production at the ATO Gold Mine,” CEO Bataa Tumur-Ochir said in a statement.

“All activities at site are running well and we look forward to a successful year of gold and silver production, and regular updates on our very exciting Phase 2 Expansion,” Tumur-Ochir added.

The firm said that reagent shipments have continued uninterrupted throughout the month and the process of restocking the reagent storage facility is ongoing.

Mining and stacking activities are on plan for the month, Steppe added, with Cell 4 stacking nearly complete.

The final cell of the first lift, should be complete by late summer, after which stacking of the second lift will commence, according to the firm, and the new crushing unit will be operational in the summer, allowing acceleration of stacking activities. Mining activities continued at planned rates with hauling of high-grade blast material at ATO 1 and ATO 4.

Steppe also updated on its Phase 2 Expansion at the site, saying recent site visits by qualified persons and consultants as optimization work on the continues to include further drill work and modelling of mining scenarios.

Steppe Gold is celebrating its fourth anniversary as a public company. In the release, CEO Tumur-Ochir expressed “sincere gratitude” to the team, partners and shareholders of the company.
