Mountain Boy Minerals Ltd (TSX-V:MTB, OTCQB:MBYMF) has announced that it continues to expand its database of knowledge about its Telegraph copper-gold project in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle in partnership with two leading geoscience research groups as the company plans for the 2022 field season.
Geological Survey of Canada gold metallogenist Christopher Lawley and Mineral Deposit Research Unit research associate Farhad Bouzari have been assisting the company with its research.
The two researchers have analysed a suite of samples from the property, including 80 drill core samples from a 2014 drilling program and 40 surface samples collected during Mountain Boy’s 2021 program.

The company said, from a critical mineral perspective, nearly all the samples carried anomalous copper, gold, silver, antimony, rhenium, and tellurium concentrations relative to bulk continental crust with several samples that were highly anomalous in these elements, and further analysis in the form of microscopy would be performed on the samples.
Mountain Boy said Lawley and Bouzari would provide the company with the understanding needed about the origin and formation of the volcanic and intrusive rocks and the resulting hydrothermal systems that occur with the emplacement of these rocks to vector towards the most highly mineralized parts of the system.
Upcoming field work
For the upcoming 2022 field season, Mountain Boy said it has planned programs across the Dok, Dok-X, Red Creek, and Nirvana Bowl areas of the property, including a comprehensive hyperspectral survey consisting of sampling outcrop along a systematic grid, a 3D-induced polarization and magnetotelluric survey to identify subsurface resistivity and chargeability to depth, and further soil geochemistry, geological mapping, and prospecting.
“The interpretation of the generated data will be used to define drill targets for the latter part of the field season,” the company said.
Mountain Boy CEO Lawrence Roulston said the company’s work at the Telegraph project continued to confirm the prospectivity and potential of the project area, including contributing to the identification of specific targets for further follow-up and drilling.
“The data has never been looked at comprehensively and modern technical science, not available to previous explorers, is now being applied,” Roulston said.
Based in Vancouver, Mountain Boy is a mining exploration company focused on British Columbia’s prolific Golden Triangle, with six active projects spanning 604 square kilometres in the area.
