Southern Silver Exploration Corp (TSX-V:SSV, OTCQX:SSVFF) said drilling has extended silver-polymetallic mineralization at its North Felsite and El Sol targets at the Cerro Las Minitas (CLM) project, in Mexico, which is one of the world's largest undeveloped silver, lead, zinc resources.
The latest drilling at North Felsite tested the main silver-lead, zinc skarn and the strongly gold-enriched hanging wall zone and highlights included a 1.2 metre (m) intercept, averaging a bonanza 1,785 grams per ton (g/t) silver, 0.5 g/t gold, 1.4% copper, 3.1% lead and 5.9% zinc.
Drilling continues to extend the target to depth which can now be traced for up to 250m on strike and up to 425m below surface, said the firm.
"Drilling continues on this target including lateral and down-dip step-outs of this new lens of mineralization which will form the basis of further exploration on the property in 2022," it added.

Southern Silver noted that eight holes for 2,920m have now been completed on the El Sol concession in 2021 and 2022.
In January this year, the company told investors it had identified a new high-grade discovery on the El Sol concession with a highlight drill result showing an 0.8m interval grading 1,760 g/t silver, 0.9g/t gold, 23.6% lead and 1.2% zinc.
Two holes were completed down dip of this highlight intercept and returned anomalous values along the target structure, said the firm, while a third hole in the southern part of the claim returned no significant values.
Meanwhile, in New Mexico, drilling continues on a six-hole, 4,000m program on the Oro project designed to test several copper-molybdenum porphyry and copper-gold skarn targets.
At the Hermanas gold-silver vein project, initial mapping and sampling was completed during the winter.
Assays are pending, the results of which will be incorporated into new drill targeting for permitting in 2022, added the company.
Southern Silver is focused on its 100% owned Cerro Las Minitas (CLM) silver-lead-zinc project located in the heart of Mexico's Faja de Plata, which hosts multiple world-class mineral deposits such as Penasquito, Los Gatos, San Martin, Naica and Pitarrilla.
In all, 196 drill holes for 84,872m have been completed at the asset with exploration expenditures of over US$30 million equating to exploration discovery costs of around C$0.09 per silver-equivalent (AgEq) ounce.
