Monger Gold Ltd (ASX:MMG)’s Peretz Schapiro describes the Scotty Lithium Project in Nevada, US, and Monger’s plans to acquire up to 100% of the asset with Proactive’s Andrew Scott.
The Scotty project sits in a highly prospective lithium mining area of Nevada, along strike from the Iconic Minerals’ Bonnie Claire lithium operation, which hosts an inferred resource of 18.3 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent.
There has been limited exploration on the project, but it shares similar geology to nearby lithium mines and has demonstrated up to 300 parts per million lithium in soil samples, indicating potential for a lithium brine operation.
Monger intends to begin with a soil sampling campaign, then use the information generated to target drilling for proof-of-concept at the project. The company hopes to develop a mineral resource by the end of the year.
