Cabral Gold Inc (TSX-V:CBR) has revealed that assay results from drilling at its central gold deposit in the Cuiú Cuiú gold district in northern Brazil have returned further evidence of a high-grade corridor of mineralization.
In a statement, the company said the drilling results suggested that there was a distinct northwest-trending, steeply dipping, high-grade corridor containing multiple individual high-grade zones.
Highlights from the drill results from the high-grade zone at the deposit include mineralized intervals of 9.6 metres (m) at 16.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 164.3m including 1.2m at 112 g/t gold from 166.9m and 2.1m at 11.5 g/t gold from 170.2m.

“This high-grade intercept occurs within fresh (unweathered), highly brecciated and altered basement intrusive rocks,” Cabral said.
The drill also showed an intercept of 17.5m at 0.5 g/t gold from 76.4m and 30.4m at 1.1 g/t gold from 130m.
A drill designed to test both the high-grade zone and down-dip continuity of the deposit returned mineralized intervals of 12.8m at 1 g/t gold from 82.6m including 0.9m at 8.1 g/t gold from 94.5m, 17.5m at 1.9 g/t gold from 149.5m, including 3.2m at 5.3 g/t gold from 150m, and 1.3m at 5.9 g/t gold from 162.5m, and 5.5m at 2.1 g/t gold from 189m including 1m at 6.6 g/t gold from 191m.
Cabral CEO Alan Carter said the high-grade zone at the deposit had been traced along strike for at least 100m and that it remained open to the northwest and southeast.
“Furthermore, it has been encountered in one of the deep historic holes on the project, at 350m below surface,” he said.
The company said further drilling would be required to better define and expand the high-grade corridor.
“We look forward to the results of the ongoing drill program at central, as well as further results from the four other drill rigs which are currently active at the nearby MG, Machichie, PDM, and Indio targets,” Carter said.
Cabral Gold is a resource company engaged in the identification, exploration, and development of mineral properties, with a focus on gold properties in Brazil.
