Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd has secured licensing rights to include Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg in its REVV Motorsport ecosystem of blockchain racing games.
The Hockenheimring in southwestern Germany is steeped in several decades of motorsport tradition and is one of the world's most famous racetracks.
Since the opening of the track in 1932, countless motorsport events have taken place at the circuit including Formula 1, FIA GT Championship, German Motorcycle Grand Prix, NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, NitrOlympX and Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters.
With a length of 4.574 kilometres, Hockenheimring consists of six left turns, 11 right turns and six straights. The racetrack contains 120,000 spectator seats and entertains approximately 700,000 visitors annually.
REVV Motorsport ecosystem
Hockenheimring will be integrated into several Animoca products in the REVV Motorsport ecosystem. It will also produce and sell NFTs, representing partial ownership of the Hockenheimring within the REVV ecosystem.
Holders of Hockenheimring NFTs will passively earn a portion of the entry fees, sponsorships and/or event hosting revenue generated on the virtual racetrack across all REVV-based games in which it features.
REVV is the token that serves as the primary currency of utility, purchase and action across REVV Motorsport blockchain games by Animoca Brands. It is designed to enable true digital ownership of game assets, giving players freedom and control over their NFT in-game items across a growing metaverse of racing games, including REVV Racing, MotoGP™ Ignition, Formula E: High Voltage and Torque Drift 2.
