Auric Mining Ltd (ASX:AWJ) has delivered positive results from its second RC drilling program at Guest Prospect. which sits between Auric’s Munda gold deposit and the privately owned and operated Mount Gold Mine.
Guest prospect is between 1.3 and 2.4 kilometres southeast of the Munda deposit and 2.2 to 3.2 kilometres northwest of the Mount Mine and is interpreted to lie in a similar structural position to Munda along the western limb of a small syncline developed on the margin of the Widgiemooltha Dome.

Some of the better assays from Auric’s 25-hole, 1824-metre January program include:
- AGRC016 - 5 metres at 2.58 g/t gold from 4 metres;
- AGRC018 - 4 metres at 4.50 g/t from 14 metres;
- AGRC026 - 3 metres at 5.25 g/t from 53 metres; and
- AGRC029 - 4 metres at 3.68 g/t from 80 metres.
Importantly for Auric, seven of the 10 drill traverses returned assays over widths of 3 metres or more defining significant mineralisation over 300 metres strike length.
A new drill target was defined along the north-eastern margin of the Guest Prospect.
Continued drilling success
January’s drilling program followed another successful program undertaken in August 2021, which identified significant gold mineralisation in four holes including:
- 8 metres at 3.95 g/t from 37 metres in AGRC002; and
- 2 metres at 20.44 g/t from 59 metres in AGRC004.
The January program was drilled to a nominal 50 x 25-metre hole spacing.
Significant mineralisation at a 0.5 g/t cut-off, over widths of at least 3 metres was intersected along seven of the 10 drill traverses representing a 300-metre strike length but with mineralisation showing only limited continuity in cross sections.
Gold mineralisation has been defined from surface to a vertical depth of 85 metres and remains open to the northeast, including beneath very shallow mineralisation in hole AGRC013 which returned 4 metres at 1.40 g/t from 19 metres and in AGRC016 which returned 5 metres at 2.58 g/t from only 4 metres.

The shallow intercepts are hosted in an extensive basalt unit which is largely untested at the margin of the Guest Prospect as it’s currently defined representing a potential new zone of gold mineralisation.
This gives Auric a compelling drill target for further exploration, which will be drilled as part of a larger program including P15/6387 in the second half of 2022.

The Guest Prospect is associated with several clusters of historic workings, including shallow shafts of unknown age. Two phases of shallow drilling have been undertaken prior to Auric with Consolidated Kalgoorlie Gold Mines (CKGM) completing 17 percussion holes for 690 metres in 1984 and Ramelius Resources Ltd completing 61 RC holes for 2,056 metres in 2006.
A program of nine RC holes drilled by Auric in 2021 included four holes that identified gold mineralisation in the south-eastern area of historic workings, initially referred to as Guest Southeast and now simply as Guest.
