Apollo Minerals Ltd (ASX:AON) has bolstered its Board of Directors through the appointment of Neil Inwood as managing director and John Welborn as non-executive chairman of the company, effective today.

Appointing these two renowned executives provides the company with focused and experienced leadership following positive exploration success at the Kroussou Zinc-Lead Project in Gabon.

Previous chairman Ian Middlemas remains a strong and supportive presence on the company’s board as a non-executive director and one of AON’s largest shareholders.

Success with AON

Inwood was appointed as an executive director of AON in February 2021 and has been instrumental in establishing the company’s drilling and exploration programs at the province-scale Kroussou project.

He has also led the team to the recent Niamabimbou discovery and growth in the developing large-scale Dikaki discovery.

Inwood is a geologist with more than 25 years of international experience in the exploration and mining industry, particularly in base metals, gold and speciality metals.

He has had significant management, consulting and venture capital experience, and was previously managing director of Berkut Minerals Limited, executive geologist with Verona Capital, principal resource geologist with Coffey Mining, and spent nine years with Barrick Gold in senior positions.
