Galantas Gold Corporation has expanded its prospecting acreage in two areas in Co. Leitrim, Republic of Ireland.
The 49sq km expansion takes its tenements in the Republic to 159sq km in addition to 437sq km in Northern Ireland, which includes its Omagh mine.
The new prospecting permits are for base metals, gold and silver for a period of six years beginning April 28, 2022.
Historical records reference copper workings, in addition to more recent zinc and lead mining activity both of which are situated within the new licence block, Galantas said in a statement.
Galantas also announced results for the year to end-December 2021 indicating losses for the year of C$5.28mln (£3.3mln) as development work on the Omagh mine continued.
Provisional concentrate sales totalled US$1.1mln for 2021 compared to US$1.35mln in 2020, but until the mine commences commercial production net proceeds from concentrate sales are being offset against development assets.
Cash at the year-end was C$1mln with a working capital deficit of C$1.4mln (C$7.7mln a year earlier).
