Smith & Nephew PLC (LSE:SN) said a recovery in elective surgery and good sports demand would keep it on track to hit its targets in 2022.
Revenue in the first quarter rose 3.3% on a reported basis to US$1.3bn for the quarter ended April 2, up from US$1.26bn a year ago.
Double-digit growth across India, the Middle East and Africa, and Latin America helped revenue in emerging markets also helped sales, said the FTSE 100 group.
Sports medicine & ENT was the standout with revenues up by 8.6% underlying with advanced wound management 8.0% higher.
"Our Q1 performance puts us on track to deliver our guidance for this year," said Deepak Nath, chief executive.
Shares of the company were up 2.92% to 1,305.50p.
Smith & Nephew is targeting revenue growth of 4% to 5% this year.
