Shree Minerals Limited (ASX:SHH) is awaiting assay results from a completed reverse circulation drilling program at Rock Lodge Project in the Lachlan Fold Belt of New South Wales.
Samples have been sent to the laboratory in Orange with results to be analysed once the assays have been received.
Rock Lodge in the state's south is a prospective site for orogenic, intrusion related gold systems (IRGS) and skarn related gold mineralisation.
Drilling and setbacks
Fifteen RC drill holes were completed for a total of 869 metres, including two which have been planned for deeper diamond drilling. Assays from the lab are expected over the coming weeks.
Drilling at Rock Lodge has been impacted by the unprecedented heavy rainfall on the east coast of Australia, causing significant interruptions.
Supply chains were also slowed due to COVID-19 causing a lack of replacement personnel.
Because of these setbacks, the start of drilling, which was planned for the end of January, was delayed a month, so drilling progress has been slow.
The company has also received notification of a number of compliance issues and once these are resolved, plans to commence the two planned diamond drill holes and Down Hole Electro Magnetic surveys to search for off-hole conductors.
Diamond drilling will focus on the projected down-dip extensions to the extensive sulphide mineralisation.
