Euro Manganese Inc (ASX:EMN, TSX-V:EMN, OTCQX:EUMNF) has bolstered its battery metals expertise with a new board director.
Hanna Schweitz will join the specialty chemicals company’s board from today, bringing with her experience across the metals and EV battery materials space.
Schweitz is currently director of battery materials and asset development at WMC Energy, an independent physical commodity merchant and industrial asset development company based in The Netherlands.
Prior to joining WMC Energy, she served for three years as director of metals and raw materials at Northvolt AB. Earlier in her career, she spent 13 years with Boliden AB, a major European metal producer and processor.
Schweitz’s appointment comes as Euro Manganese advances the Chvaletice Manganese Project in the Czech Republic.
Once online, the Chvaletice plant will supply high-purity manganese products by reprocessing tailings from a decommissioned mine, strategically located in the heart of the renowned European EV market.
Helping bring Chvaletice online
Euro Manganese president and CEO Dr Matthew James welcomed Schweitz to the board.
“[Hanna] adds depth to our collective skills and experience, which will help tremendously as we continue to engage customers in the fast-moving market for battery raw materials,” he explained.
“Hanna’s skills are highly relevant and we look forward to benefitting from her insights and perspectives.”
Schweitz also said she was excited to be part of Euro Manganese.
“A company developing a project in Europe to extract critical battery raw materials by recycling old tailings is just what we need to support the transition to a truly sustainable society,” she stated today.
