Marvel Gold set to grow million-ounce Tabakorole Gold Project with new high-grade intercepts from Lone Wolf

“These results have given us the confidence to embark on further exploration at Lone Wolf, commencing with an IP survey to assist with identifying the most chargeable zones that is currently underway," says MD Chris van Wijk.

Marvel Gold Ltd (ASX:MVL) has received positive results from an initial reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at Lone Wolf Prospect of the Tabakorole Gold Project in Mali, successfully demonstrating mineralisation in three of five holes.

The best result from this shallow drilling campaign was 14 metres at 4.9 g/t gold from 33 metres, which included 4 metres at 16.3 g/t from 33 metres.

Additional results of note include:

  • 8 metres at 1.8 g/t from 16 metres;
  • 10 metres at 1.9 g/t from 55 metres;
  • 6 metres at 1.0 g/t from 1-metre;
  • 11 metres at 0.9 g/t from 64 metres; and
  • 4 metres at 0.9 g/t from 63 metres.

The mineralisation at Lone Wolf remains open along strike and at depth. Marvel Gold intends to follow up these results with an induced polarisation (IP) survey to assist in targeting future drill programs.

“Prospect is well mineralised”

“We are very pleased with this initial drilling campaign at Lone Wolf which has confirmed the presence of high-grade gold over significant widths,” Marvel Gold managing director Chris van Wijk said.

“Drilling was designed to de-risk the prospect and uncover the bedrock mineralisation which has been largely obscured by oxidised cover rocks.

“The RC chips have shown that the prospect is well mineralised and that mineralisation correlates well with the sulphide content.

“These results have given us the confidence to embark on further exploration at Lone Wolf, commencing with an IP survey to assist with identifying the most chargeable zones that is currently underway.”

Marvel Gold has also been investigating Target H, a prospect along strike and to the south of Lone Wolf and the main million-ounce JORC resource of Tabakorole.

The company completed an aircore drilling program over Target H, from which all results have now been delivered. Mineralisation was detected in a single hole, returning 7 metres at 2.1 g/t gold from 26 metres and ending in mineralisation.

Here too, Marvel Gold intends to investigate further with an IP survey, which should provide further information about the location and depth of the main mineralised systems at both prospects.
