Buru Energy boss Eric Streitberg joined Katie to give us an update on the past few weeks of activity as the Aussie oil and gas explorer continues its busy start to 2022.
The company has seen encouraging successes at the Rafael gas-condensate discovery and Ungani project in Western Australia’s Canning Basin.
“We drilled the Raphael well as part of an exploration program last year and did a well test a couple of months later in March and that gave us some pretty promising results. We appear to have made quite a substantial gas discovery so what we thought was that we need to get an independent look at this, so that people aren't just hearing the story from Buru they've actually got someone independent having a look at it,” he said.
Streitberg tells investors that appraisal drilling is slated in 2023 as a follow up to the discovery and the results may move the company closer to the commercialisation.
