Homeserve PLC (LSE:HSV) is higher after the home repairs and improvements business began talks with a potential bidder.
The company announced after the market shut last night that it had received a number of proposals from Brookfield Infrastructure, which had said in March it was considering a possible offer.
Homeserve said the proposals had a number of conditions, but it had decided to enter discussions with Brookfield about a potential deal.
So the Takeover Panel has extended a deadline for Brookfield to make a bid from yesterday to 19 May although the two sides can also be given even more time if needed.
The company said there was no certainty a firm offer would be made, but its shares are up 14.7% at 979p.
