Ferrari recalls over 2,000 vehicles from China

The issue relates to imported vehicles between 2010 and 2019

Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) (Ferrari (NYSE:RACE)) is to recall over 2,000 of its luxury sports cars from China over fears of a potential fault in the braking system, China’s market regulator announced in a statement.

According to Reuters, the issues relate to imported vehicles between March 2010 and 2019, and covers the Italia, Speciale, Speciale A, Spider, GTB and Spider series models, with over 400 of each car being recalled.

Recalls will begin on May 30, with Ferrari stating that after investigating the matter with its supplier Bosch it had identified a brake reservoir fluid cap that may not vent properly, potentially creating a vacuum.

A source close to the matter said it is part of Ferrari’s plan to recall models manufactured during that period for the same issues, with a similar recall campaign in the US last November.

"The safety and wellbeing of our clients is our priority. We operate according to stringent safety and security guidelines to ensure the right systems and procedures are in place at all times,” the Italian luxury car manufacturer said.
