Graft Polymer (UK) PLC was granted patents from Slovenia and Russia for its self-nano-emulsifying drug delivery system (SNEEDS) as well as other products.
The polymer modification company said the “patents are an important element of the group’s intellectual property strategy.”
Three of the patents, SIPO 26056, FIPO 2765946 and SIPO 26070, include protecting the method of preparing the drug delivery systems as well as the technology itself.
Patent SIPO 26056 covers the self-emulsifying drug delivery systems for cannabinoids.
FIPO 2765946 covers a “supersaturated self-nano-emulsifying drug delivery system” which is slightly soluble in water.
Patent SIPO 26054, is "super-saturable oil-free self-nano-emulsifying drug delivery system” that is not very soluble in water.
And Patent SIPO 26070 covers the method of industrial production of modified polymers and the device used to achieve it.
According to a statement, the company has been awarded two further patents by the Federal Intellectual Property Office of Russia.
All patents are held or in the process of being transferred to Graft Polymer UK IP, a subsidiary of the company.
“The grant of patents is a key element of our intellectual property strategy and an important milestone for the company, enabling us to defend our profitability over several decades,” said chief executive Victor Bolduev.
