MGC Pharmaceuticals Ltd (LSE:MXC, OTC:MGCLF, ASX:MXC).’s patent has been granted for its new product, CimetrA.
The drug is designed for the treatment of acute and chronic inflammation associated with variants of influenzas, viral diseases including COVID-19, autoimmune diseases, adverse reactions from cancer therapy and the promotion of an immune response to bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections.
The patent provides MGC Pharma commercial protection over the intellectual property associated with CimetrA for a period of 20 years.
About CimetrA
CimetrA is a nano-micellular compound consisting of Curcumin, Boswellia and optionally Artemisinin, cannabinoids and/or nitroxides.
The composition can be made in liquid or solid pharmaceutically acceptable carriers, holding antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating properties.
The drug is designed for multiple therapeutic applications using Graft Polymer’s GraftBio self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (or SNEDDS).
Regulation of circadian rhythm
Along with the product's antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, it holds a potential efficacy in relation to the regulation of the human body's circadian rhythm and homeostasis, which promotes an immune response to bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections.
Co-founder and managing director of MGC Pharma, Roby Zomer, said the grant of the patent is a milestone for MGC Pharma.
“The patent acknowledges the uniqueness of CimetrA’s formulation, as well as providing commercial protection of the intellectual property used to manufacture the product.”
