Cabral Gold highlights promising drill results from MG gold deposit on its Cuiú Cuiú project in Brazil

"The drill program at MG continues to demonstrate that a significant zone of higher grade mineralization occurs within the primary MG gold deposit that forms a distinctive zone,” CEO Alan Carter told shareholders

Cabral Gold Inc (TSX-V:CBR) has unveiled more assay results from the MG gold deposit within the Cuiú Cuiú gold district in northern Brazil, showcasing higher-grade mineralization across the zone.

Highlights from the six diamond drill holes reported include 17.5 metres (m) at 4 grams per ton (g/t) gold within the primary hard-rock MG gold deposit, including 5.5m at 10.5 g/t gold.

Cabral said that particular hole also cut a significant interval in the overlying unconsolidated sediments that comprise the gold-in-oxide blanket, returning 44m at 0.5 g/t gold from surface.

Other results include 18m at 1 g/t gold in unconsolidated sediments that comprise the gold-in-oxide blanket, which included 1m at 15.3 g/t gold.

Another hole intersected significant mineralized interval within primary hard-rock material returning 31m at 1.3 g/t gold from 105m, including 0.5m at 15.5 g/t gold.

"The drill program at MG continues to demonstrate that a significant zone of higher grade mineralization occurs within the primary MG gold deposit that forms a distinctive zone,” CEO Alan Carter said in a statement.

“In addition, the current drill program is intersecting excellent widths of good grade material. The terrane is also working in our favour with positive relief improving the strip ration for potential exploitation of the basement saprolite mineralization. Furthermore, the results from the overlying gold-in-oxide blanket continue to demonstrate that a significant zone of higher grade mineralization occurs within the extensive gold-in-oxide blanket."

Results are pending on four more diamond drill holes at MG, Cabral said.

Another set of results from seven diamond drill holes at the Central zone is also forthcoming, and yet another from the first two diamond drill holes at the Indio target.

Cabral is also drilling at the Machichie target.

The Cuiú Cuiú gold district is located in the Tapajós region, within the state of Pará in northern Brazil. Two gold deposits have so far been defined at Cuiú Cuiú and contain NI 43-101 compliant Indicated resources of 5.9 million tons at 0.90 g/t for 200,000 ounces, and Inferred resources of 19.5 million tons at 1.24 g/t for 800,000 ounces.
