Critical Resources Ltd (ASX:CRR) has engaged Cyr Drilling for its inaugural drilling campaign at Mavis Lake Lithium Project in Ontario, Canada, with the program underway seeking further high-grade lithium intersections from areas with known pegmatites.
The program will consist of 49 holes for a total of 5,000 metres, with further exploration plans already underway to fast-track the potential for a JORC-compliant resource estimate.
Previous drilling at Mavis Lake revealed high-grade lithium oxide intercepts, including:
- 55.25 metres at 1.04% lithium from 80.75 metres; and
- 26.30 metres at 1.70% lithium from 111.9 metres, including 7.70 metres at 2.97% lithium from 130.5 metres.
The company believes these previous results demonstrate excellent potential for resource definition and expansion, and has begun planning for additional drill programs.
Toward maiden resource

Critical Resources says Mavis Lake represents a “transformational opportunity” for the company to position itself in the growing lithium sector in Ontario, Canada.
The Canadian government recently announced its first-ever critical minerals strategy, worth C$3.8 billion and intended to boost domestic production of lithium, copper and other strategic minerals.
Additionally, Avalon Advanced Materials Inc has announced a binding letter of intent to develop a lithium refinery in Thunder Bay, Ontario, approximately 350 kilometres from the Mavis Lake Lithium Project.
