Forte Minerals unveils its exploration plans for Pucarini gold project in Puno, southern Peru

The as-yet undrilled property is wholly owned by Forte Copper Corp with a 1% net smelter return royalty (NSR) held by Globetrotters Resource Group

Forte Minerals Corp, the copper and gold explorer, has unveiled its exploration plans for its wholly-owned 1,000 hectare (Ha) Pucarini gold project in the department of Puno, southern Peru, which includes a four-hole drill program once permiting is received.

The as-yet undrilled asset is wholly owned by Forte Copper Corp with a 1% net smelter return royalty (NSR) held by Globetrotters Resource Group Inc.

In late 2020, Forte staked 10 satellite claims surrounding Pucarini, comprising 16,100 Ha and the firm also revealed it was recently awarded full title to these new claims, which show similar geology to that of the high sulphidation epithermal gold system at Pucarini.

In 2022, a regional exploration program will be deployed with follow-up sampling and mapping on these new claims, said Forte.

Forte completed extensive surface exploration in 2021 at Pucarini which included geological mapping and sampling.

Four exploration targets (A-D) were interpreted, which will require drilling as the next step and an initial four-hole, core drill program of over 1,000 metres (m) is planned to test three of the four areas.

The first hole will test the north end of the north-trending chargeability anomaly at target area A and the second hole is designed to target quartz veining, hydrothermal breccia veins and breccia dikes associated with an advanced argillic mineral assemblage in target area A.

A third hole will test beneath the cluster of rock chip samples that returned anomalous gold values in target area B and the fourth is positioned to test the large resistivity anomaly in target area C near the east flank of a north-trending chargeability anomaly, the company said.

Forte said it was working with an "experienced ESG consulting firm" based in Peru to guide its exploration and permitting.

"The CIRA Report, which is the first step in the permitting process, has been submitted and approval is expected shortly. The field studies and technical documents have been completed and the company is in the process of finalizing the DIA Report which will be submitted to MINEM for approval of the drill permits," it told investors.

Forte Minerals has blended assets with GlobeTrotters Resources Peru SAC to build an attractive portfolio of high-quality copper and gold assets in Peru.

The company's portfolio combines early-stage and drill-ready targets with a historically discovered and drilled porphyry system that is strategically positioned for target resolution and mineral inventory development.
