Roquefort Therapeutics PLC (LSE:ROQ) appointed the chief safety officer of Anglo-Dutch consumer products giant Reckitt Benckiser to its board.
Dr Simon Sinclair will be the second new independent director to join the drug development group this month following the appointment of Jean Duvall.
Before Reckitt, Sinclair held senior roles at Johnson and Johnson and Merck.
Roquefort chairman Stephen West said: “Simon has extensive experience in bringing novel, safe and meaningful technologies and therapies to global healthcare systems and patients worldwide and I look forward to working him to drive our pre-clinical programmes forward to clinical trials and beyond."
The company is using its expertise to develop Covid, cancer and inflammation drugs targeting midkine, a heparin-binding growth factor, which, when over-expressed, is linked with a whole host of nasty ailments.
