Halma dives for underwater robots manufacturer Deep Trekker

The cash consideration is to be funded from Halma's existing facilities

Halma PLC (LSE:HLMA) said it has acquired underwater robots manufacturer Deep Trekker Inc for C$60mln (£36mln) to be part of its environmental and analysis sector.

Deep Trekker's remotely operated robots are used for inspection, surveying, analysis and maintenance largely in acquaculture, renewable energy, ocean science and research.

"Deep Trekker is an exciting addition to Halma, which is highly aligned with our purpose, both in terms of helping to ensure a cleaner environment, and in improving the safety of underwater inspections," said Halma chief executive Andrew Williams.

The cash consideration is to be funded from Halma's existing facilities.

Deep Trekker's unaudited revenue for the 12 months to December 31m 2021 was Can$20.0mln (£12mln), with return on sales above Halma's target range of 18-22%.
