ANGLE PLC (AIM:AGL, OTCQX:ANPCY) said a poster presentation showcasing its breast cancer technology attracted 'industry interest’ at a world-leading medical conference.
Delegates learned the company’s Parsortix device was able to detect the key markers for the triple-negative form of the disease via a blood draw rather than a painful and invasive biopsy.
Specifically, Parsortix was used to help identify and investigate both mesenchymal and epithelial circulating tumour cells (CTCs) from the samples.
ANGLE said it is offering this workflow as part of its pharma services business for monitoring patients in cancer drug trials.
The poster was presented at the American Association for Cancer Research Conference in New Orleans, which finished on Wednesday.
“[It] attracted industry interest as it demonstrated the ability to analyse cancer cells harvested from patient blood samples, known as circulating tumour cells, for key markers of interest and, as a result of its capability to investigate both mesenchymal and epithelial CTCs, a significantly higher positivity rate than alternative approaches,” the company told investors.
