MaxCyte sales surge, CFO stands down

“Core business revenue is expected to be at least US$9.0mln," it said

MaxCyte Inc (AIM:MXCT) said Amanda Murphy has stepped down as chief financial officer with Ron Holtz, currently chief accounting officer, taking over as interim replacement while it looks for a permanent successor.

MaxCyte also announced that first-quarter revenue would rise by at least 70% to US$11.0mln (£8.5mln) from US$6.5mln a year ago.

"Core business revenue is expected to be at least US$9.0mln, compared to US$6.5mln in the prior year period, and SPL Program-related revenue is expected to be US$2.0mln," it said in a statement. There was no SPL Program-related revenue in the year-earlier quarter.

Doug Doerfler, MaxCyte’s chief executive, thanked Murphy for helping the business through its Nasdaq listing last year.

Doerfler added: “I am delighted with our operational and financial performance in the first quarter."

Additionally, MaxCyte said Sean Menarguez has been promoted to director, Investor Relations.
