Aeris Resources reaffirms copper production guidance at Tritton

“With higher grade ore sources coming online, including Budgerygar and Avoca Tank, copper production is targeted to increase to over 30,000 tonnes per annum in FY25,” says executive chair.

Aeris Resources Ltd (ASX:AIS) has reaffirmed its FY22 production guidance of between 18,500 and 19,500 tonnes of copper for the Tritton operations in NSW.

The Aussie copper-gold producer and explorer is looking to bring production up to 30,000 tonnes per annum in FY25 as it brings its higher-grade deposits online.

Tritton’s present mine life could go beyond eight years based on the known deposits, but there’s room for that to grow with exploration down the line.

Over the coming financial years, Aeris expects to produce:

  • FY23: 20,000 to 22,000 tonnes of copper;
  • FY24: 21,000 to 23,000 tonnes; and
  • FY25: 30,000 to 33,000 tonnes.

Looking for life of mine extensions

Commenting on the affirmed guidance, Aeris executive chair Andre Labuschagne said: “The changes to operating strategy we made in January are now flowing through and we are on target to meet the FY22 copper production guidance.

“We also now have a clear pathway to upwards of an 8-year mine life at Tritton, based on known deposits.

“With higher grade ore sources coming online, including Budgerygar and Avoca Tank, copper production is targeted to increase to over 30,000 tonnes per annum in FY25.

“We are actively drilling a number of deposits, with mineral resource updates planned for later this year, and there remains considerable exploration potential on the Tritton tenements that provides the potential for further life of mine extensions.”
