Kin Mining’s latest broad, high-grade gold hits reignite focus on Cardinia’s Eastern Corridor

Further drilling is planned to infill and extend the high grade, east-dipping lodes to determine their source structure.

Kin Mining NL (ASX:KIN) has released its next lot of gold assays from a drilling program over the 1.28-million-ounce Cardinia Gold Project’s underexplored Eastern Corridor.

The reverse circulation (RC) drill program has uncovered new high-grade gold zones to the east of the prospect’s historical Rangoon surface workings.

The explorer’s latest intersections confirm that high-grade mineralisation dips to the east, supporting previous hits like 3 metres at 21.1 g/t gold.

Based on recent work and the new results today, Kin’s exploration team believes the Eastern Corridor represents a significant opportunity for resource growth at Cardinia.

“Kicking some serious goals”

Commenting on the latest gold hits, Kin Mining managing director Andrew Munckton said: “Exploration along the Eastern Corridor at Cardinia is continuing to kick some serious goals, with these exciting new assay results confirming the interpretation of high-grade east-dipping, sulphide-rich gold mineralisation around Rangoon.

“We believe that these east-dipping lodes link the previously separate deposits in the Eastern Corridor together as part of a coherent and much larger mineralised system that spans a significant area at the CGP.

“This is an exciting development which has refocused our attention on this area.

“This drilling has confirmed the new geological interpretation and shows that the Eastern Corridor is highly mineralised with several shallow deposits already identified at Cardinia Hill, Helens, Fiona, Rangoon and East Lynne.

“We see significant potential to discover more high-grade lodes and to delineate new resources in close proximity to the existing deposits and grow our overall inventory across this corridor, which will continue to be an important focus for us moving forward.”

The results are in

Kin Mining’s latest program was designed to test an area of limited drilling to the east of the historical Rangoon workings for high-grade gold mineralisation. The phase five program took place in late 2021, covering 30 holes and 4,110 metres.

RC drilling across the Eastern Corridor has encountered:

  • 19 metres at 2.48 g/t gold from 91 metres;
  • 12 metres at 3.04 g/t from 62 metres;
  • 4 metres at 5.50 g/t from 145 metres;
  • 2 metres at 4.67 g/t from 128 metres;
  • 4 metres at 4.39 g/t from 44 metres;
  • 6 metres at 2.43 g/t from 86 metres;
  • 4 metres at 2.66 g/t from 135 metres;
  • 1 metre at 17.5 g/t from 119 metres; and
  • 1 metre at 8.14 g/t from 126 metres to end-of-hole.

Kin is buoyed by the latest assays because they support previous high-grade intersections, including:

  • 3 metres at 21.1 g/t gold from 98 metres;
  • 3 metres at 8.40 g/t from 106 metres;
  • 2 metres at 6.78 g/t from 74 metres;
  • 6 metres at 2.92 g/t from 102 metres;
  • 4 metres at 2.57 g/t from 66 metres; and
  • 40 metres at 0.81 g/t from 66 metres, including 8 metres at 1.84 g/t from 83 metres.

Now, Kin will take its magnifying glass to the region and further explore the Eastern Corridor’s mineralised positions, stretched across a 1-kilometre by 4.5-kilometre footprint.

Further drilling is planned to infill and extend the high grade, east-dipping lodes to determine their source structure.

About Kin

Kin Mining NL (ASX:KIN) is a West Aussie gold development and exploration company.

The gold stock’s key focus is the 100% owned Cardinia Gold Project in the highly prospective North-Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.

The Cardinia asset has a 1.23-million-ounce gold mineral resource defined in both oxide and deeper primary mineralisation.

There’s considerable potential to grow this resource with further drilling, so Kin is heads down in a multi-stage exploration campaign over Cardina’s underexplored tenements.
