Genel Energy receives US$35.4mln of oil sales payments from KRG

The company received payments for the month of December

Genel Energy PLC (LSE:GENL, OTC:GEGYY) told investors it has received US$35.4mln of payments from the Kurdistan Regional Government relating to oil sales during the month of December.

The Tawke field accounted for some US$17.3mln of the payments, plus US$8.8mln for the Tawke override facility, whilst the Taq Taq and Sarta fields contributed US$2.5mln and US$2.2mln respectively.

A further US$4.6mln was paid against past receivables.

Genel noted that, following the payments, it is now owed some US$97mln from the KRG for oil sales from November 2019 to February 2020 and the suspended override from March to December 2020.
